As a student in the Computer Information Systems and Computer Science program, you will be provided with the theoretical frameworks from the information systems and technology world. Specifically, these degrees are focused on a program that builds an understanding of core information systems and technologies and related areas of study. You will be prepared for the practical application of various approaches to computer systems and sharpen your ability to think critically and to work in teams. Your experience will culminate with a senior capstone experience that provides the opportunity to integrate all previous learning and experiences.
Many students combine the Computer Information Systems minor with other majors, such as Business, Science and Graphic Design. With a focus on specific applications of information systems, students acquire practical knowledge in areas of analysis and design of database solutions, networking technologies and use of the World Wide Web.
