Simpson Street Free Press Speaker Series: Kaleem Caire

Madison, Wis. (January 29, 2013) –Madison’s Simpson Street Free Press and Edgewood College invite Greater Madison to the second in a series of lectures entitled “Achievement, Journalism, and Today’s Young People.” 

Kaleem Caire, President and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Madison, will speak at 3:00 pm Saturday, February 2, in Anderson Auditorium on the campus of Edgewood College.

Mr. Caire was co-founder and CEO of Next Generation Education Foundation. He has also held executive leadership positions with Target Corporation, Fight for Children of Washington, D.C., and the Black Alliance for Educational Options (BAEO).

“Kaleem Caire has ramped-up our civic discourse in the realm of education and student achievement. His brand of innovative thinking will help us find practical, local solutions,” says Simpson Street Free Press executive director Jim Kramer. “This will be much more than just another talk, this will be a presentation people need to hear,” Kramer said.

“No local leader has taken on achievement gaps the way Kaleem Caire has,” says Simpson Street managing editor Deidre Green.  “We are proud and honored Mr. Caire accepted our invitation to participate in the series.”
