(October 3, 2012) – Edgewood College is honored to welcome Dr. Gloria Ladson-Billings, renowned educator on the faculty of the UW-Madison, as she furthers our campus discussions about the College’s 2012 Common Reading selection, The Other Wes Moore. That work asks the question ‘why do two young African-American males growing up in similar circumstances have such different life outcomes?’

Dr. Ladson-Billings will provide her perspectives on this complex question based on her work in the fields of Critical Race Theory and Culturally Relevant Pedagogy.

Whether or not you have read The Other Wes Moore, Dr. Ladson-Billings’ insights are sure to be thought-provoking, relevant, and inspired.

The public is invited to this free lecture, 2:00-3:30 pm, Thursday, October 11, 2012, in Anderson Auditorium at Edgewood College.
