"We're honored that students and their families continue to tour our campus, meet with faculty, talk with current students, and realize this is the right fit for them," said Christine Benedict, Director of Undergraduate Admissions. "These young people recognize the opportunities we offer to connect learning in the classroom with what's happening in our world. And more and more, they see that we are a place that welcomes all students who reflect the communities we serve."

While Wisconsin students continue to comprise the majority of freshmen, the class of 2015 also includes students from Illinois, Minnesota, Indiana, Oregon and California.

Madison, Wis. (August 4, 2011) - Edgewood College has been named to Forbes Magazine's Best Colleges List for 2011. This marks the first time the College has been so honored.

The Forbes rankings of 650 schools - the top twenty percent of all undergraduate institutions - are prepared exclusively for Forbes by the Center for College Affordability and Productivity, a Washington D.C. think tank founded by Ohio University economist Richard Vedder.

The rankings are based on five general categories: post graduate success (30%), which evaluates alumni pay and prominence, student satisfaction (27.5%), which includes professor evaluations and freshman to sophomore year retention rates, debt (17.5%), which penalizes schools for high student debt loads and default rates, four year graduation rate (17.5%) and competitive awards (7.5%), which rewards schools whose students win prestigious scholarships and fellowships. A complete methodology is available online.
