Selection Process
Applicants successfully submitting all application materials and meeting minimum admission requirements will be contacted by the School of Nursing to complete a Supplemental Questionnaire.
The School of Nursing Admissions Committee is composed of nursing faculty. This Committee reviews applications, evaluates the writing sample and assesses the relevance of experience. Based on the strength of their qualifications, this Committee selects the applicants for admission to the Post-Baccalaureate BSN Program. The Committee reserves the right to evaluate and modify the selection criteria and admission procedures each year. Admission to the Post-Baccalaureate BSN program at Edgewood College will be offered to 28 students each academic year.
Students accepted into the program must accept admission by a specified date specified in their Offer of Admission Letter or forfeit their space to other qualified applicants.
Due to space availability, highly-qualified students may be denied admission. However, qualified students not initially offered admission may be offered admission at a later date if space becomes available.
Admission Cycle Dates:
The cycle in which applicants are reviewed is determined by the timeliness of their application. For example, if an applicant submits all required materials prior to January 15
th, their application will be reviewed for eligibility during the January 15
th admission cycle. If eligible, applicants will be scheduled for reviewed on a priority-decision basis (typically notified of admission decision by February 15
th).
Any applications received after January 15th will be considered on a space-availability basis. If space permits, eligible applicants will be reviewed in a timely manner (typically notified of admission decision one month of the School of Nursing receiving the completed application). Any applications received after June 15th will be considered for January 15th for NEXT YEAR's program.
Meeting minimum eligibility requirements, however, does not imply admission.
