Dual Language Immersion Institutional Certificate

A unique learning opportunity for teachers and administrators in schools that have adopted Dual Language Immersion as an educational strategy for promoting literacy.

Throughout Wisconsin, many school districts are developing dual language immersion programs to help students in multi-language classrooms attain academic skills and knowledge and gain a greater understanding and appreciation for other cultures. The institutional certificate offered by Edgewood College addresses the needs of educators working in one-way (foreign languages and indigenous languages), two-way, and developmental bilingual programs.

Program Highlights

  • Instruction presented in both traditional classroom and online learning modules to meet the scheduling needs of teachers.
  • Credits earned may be applied towards certification for a DPI license in Bilingual Education (WDPI 023) and towards completion of the MA-Education with a concentration in Bilingual Education.
  • Curriculum is aligned with professional portfolio requirements.
  • You may choose to take a single course if you’re not interested in completing the entire certificate.
  • Tuition cost ($318 per credit) is substantially less the regular rate for Graduate credits.
