Secondary License Cohort Course and Degree Requirements

The following courses are required to complete the license certification:

(All courses are 3 credits each)

• ED 601 Foundations of Instruction
• ED 602 Curriculum Planning
• ED 614 Cross Categorical Children and Youth
• ED 634 Classroom Organization and Management
• ED 651 Curriculum Development in Interdisciplinary Studies - Methods
• ED 652 Seminar in Curriculum Studies – Secondary Literacy
• ED 660 Seminar in Policy Studies in Education
• ED 693 Supervised Field Teaching

When a candidate also seeks a Master of Education degree, completion of the following courses is required, in addition to those listed in the License Requirements (33 credits total):

• ED 603 Introduction to Educational Research
• ED 692 Action Research Project
• Plus one Graduate Level 3-credit elective course approved by the Program Advisor
