Sustainability Leadership Program

Class of 2011

Edgewood Announces New Master of Arts
in Sustainability Leadership

Beginning in 2014, Edgewood College will offer a new Master of Arts in Sustainability Leadership in addition to its on-going Sustainability Leadership Graduate Certificate. This is the first face-to-face Master of Arts degree in Sustainability Leadership in the nation and it reflects Edgewood's commitment to innovative, values-driven, and community-focused education. This new Master of Arts builds upon the foundation provided by Edgewood's successful Sustainability Leadership Graduate Certificate Program, providing additional depth while allowing appropriate flexibility to meet diverse student needs. The cohort-based Sustainability Leadership Graduate Certificate will remain as a stand-alone option and as the foundational core of the expanded and optional Master of Arts.

The Sustainability Leadership Graduate Program prepares working professionals, career seekers and career changers to drive transformational change for more resilient organizations and communities.

The nine-month, cohort- and project-based Certificate/Master of Arts core program trains students in sustainability and systems thinking, develops their leadership skills and professional networks, and offers them an opportunity for personal and professional transformation. This 12-credit program provides the basis for several other degree options, including a new 33-credit Master of Arts in Sustainability Leadership.

Lead the Change

In joining Edgewood's Sustainability Leadership Graduate Program, you will be at the vanguard of a small but growing number of similar programs around the world. As part of the program you will: address real-world issues related to your interests and professional goals through a project-based curriculum; build a network of relationships with your program colleagues and mentors, community leaders and other sustainability experts; and have the framework you need to apply new concepts and theories to community-based projects that engage others and build on your leadership strengths.

Program alumni are now leading change for sustainability at organizations including American Family Insurance, Center for Whole Communities, State of Wisconsin and Sustain Dane.
