Graduate Certificate Program
The Sustainability Leadership Graduate Certificate Program is ideal for those seeking a new direction, and for adult professionals wanting to make an impact in their current work environment or the community. A great fit for individuals working in a wide range of fields, including nonprofit and corporate management, economic development, education, local government, facilities operations, public health, energy and utilities, regional planning and design, hospitality, religious service, law, and more.
Community Fellowship in Sustainability Leadership
The Community Fellowship role combines traditional roles of participants as students and instructors with more flexible roles of participants as teacher/learners, community partners, mentors and servant-leaders. Fellows bring specific interests, significant expertise and other resources to the Program. Community Fellows may be sponsored by an organization that provides financial support or other resources. Sponsoring organizations benefit from the professional development and community engagement of their participating Fellows, and from recognition as a supporter of sustainability in the community.
“The Community Fellows add a reality check to the current culture of sustainability.” - Student, Class of 2011
Lead the Change
In the Sustainability Leadership Graduate Program, you’ll address real-world issues related to your interests and professional goals through a project-based curriculum. You’ll build a network of relationships with your program colleagues and mentors, community leaders, and other sustainability experts. The knowledge and skills you’ll acquire can be put to immediate use as you learn by doing. New concepts and theories are applied directly to individualized, community-based projects. The program provides you the structure and support to implement projects that engage others and build on your leadership strengths.
“I have come to understand and appreciate the fact that our community of learners is not only a wonderful think tank, idea generator, and sounding board, it is also a great repository of expertise that encompasses a wide and diverse range of knowledge.” - Tatek Assefa, Class of 2011
