Jim Lorman has taught science and integrative studies at Edgewood College for 31 years and is a recipient of the Underkofler Excellence in Teaching Award. He has broad expertise in regenerative ecological and social systems, with particular focus on watersheds, community resilience, and participatory process. Jim was a Fellow in the Kellogg National Fellowship Program and continues his commitment to leadership through the Kellogg Fellows Leadership Alliance and a wide variety of organizations and committees.

Kathryne Auerback is a strategy and communications executive with over 20 years of professional experience. Her primary interest is in creating healthy, equitable communities through innovative, collaborative initiatives such as the award-winning Eat Healthy Rebate and GO! Campaign. In addition to teaching, Kathryne is the director of program development for the School of Business, co-chairs the Campus Sustainability Coordinating Team, and serves as vice-chair of the board of REAP Food Group.

Steven Davis is a Professor of Political Science in the Social Science Department and past director of the Environmental Studies Program. He teaches courses in American government, political theory, and environmental policy. His research has mostly focused on environmental groups, how democracy and environmentalism intersect, and the politics of federal and local public land management. Steve likes to hike and explore on public lands, bike around town, and tinker away in his garden. He also has taught each of his kids to be master tree identifiers.

Nicole Kime teaches biology and environmental studies courses at Edgewood College. Nikki is past Chair of Environmental Studies, and currently a member of the Biological Sciences Department. Her expertise is in behavioral ecology, animal physiology, and animal communication. Most of her academic research has been on frogs and lizards from North and Central America, and she has recently taken a personal and professional interest in understanding and preserving/restoring our native plant communities. In her free-time, Nikki will run, ride, or ski and then eat good local food.

Tim Kuhman teaches botany, ecology, and environmental biology at Edgewood College and is Director of the Environmental Studies Program. He is currently conducting research regarding the spread of non-native invasive plants in the Madison area, and he has strong interests in issues involving local foods and urban agriculture. His graduate research addressed the role of historical and contemporary land use in shaping patterns of non-native plant invasion in the Southern Appalachians. As a Peace Corps volunteer in Madagascar, Tim was involved in a number of community-based conservation and local sustainability initiatives. Tim enjoys gardening, backpacking, riding bike, fly-fishing, playing guitar, and spending time with his kids.

John Leonard is Chair of the Religious Studies Department and teaches in several areas within Religious Studies, specializing in Spirituality, Liturgy, Catholic Studies, and Liberation Theologies. He works closely with the Center for Diversity & Inclusion, Dominican Mission Committee, the COR program and Environmental Studies in which he teaches a COR 1 course in Eco-Spirituality and a COR 2 year-long seminar in Living Sustainably. An organic gardener and accomplished chef, John integrates food, fitness, music and art in all his courses and departmental celebrations.
