Vice President, HR, UW Medical Foundation
Bill Schrum joined the UW Medical Foundation in 2001. Prior to joining the UWMF he was Vice President of Human Resources at Gundersen Lutheran Health System in La Crosse, Wisconsin, for eight years. He began his healthcare career at St. Anthony Hospital System in Denver, Colorado, and Bill's career also includes serving as Director of Corporate Human Resource Operations for Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) International Division. Prior to his work in healthcare, he owned and edited the Lafayette (Colorado) Times newspaper.
Bill did undergraduate work at the University of Colorado and graduate work at the University of Denver and the University of Minnesota. As accredited as a Senior Professional in HR since 1981, he lectures at UW-Green Bay and UW-La Crosse. He also presently serves on the Board of the Wisconsin Veterans Museum Foundation. Bill was a photo-journalist in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1968 until 1971, and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant/E-5. He is a Life Member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and the Disabled American Veterans.
