Marty Preizler served for over forty years in executive positions in Wisconsin state government, managed care organizations, and higher education. He was President and CEO of three health insurance companies, including ten years leading Physicians Plus Insurance Corp. in Madison. In his early career he directed the WI Medicaid program for seven years. Marty recently was the Dean of The School of Business at Edgewood College (2009-2014). He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UW-Madison and UM-Ann Arbor.
Marty developed the MBA in Health Systems Leadership program at Edgewood College. He has taught Organizational Effectiveness and Improvement to undergraduate business majors at Edgewood, and currently teaches Strategic Management (the HSL Capstone course), Principles of Health Insurance, and Healthcare Service and Clinical Quality. Marty has practiced as an independent management consultant assisting businesses and organizations in leadership, strategy, process management and quality improvement. He has been a national Baldrige examiner and Wisconsin state Forward Award judge.
Marty is a member of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA at http://www.aupha.org/home) He has served on the Edgewood College Board of Trustees, the Capitol Lakes Retirement Community Foundation, the Wisconsin Center for Performance Excellence, and numerous other community boards. He is currently a member of the UW-Madison Dept. of Sociology Advisory Board, and is a member of the Board of Trustees at the WEA Trust, a health insurance company serving public employees.
