MBA in Health Systems Leadership - NEW
Designed in close collaboration with local healthcare system experts, the MBA in Health Systems Leadership
prepares future executives to make a meaningful difference in a wide range of healthcare delivery and financing organizations. In addition to administrative managers, the program is well suited for physicians, pharmacists and other clinicians, lawyers and accounting professionals serving health system clients. The 43-credit curriculum includes courses such as Managerial Health Economics, Health Policy and Law, Healthcare Service and Clinical Quality, and is taught by highly qualified health professionals and faculty. Graduate Certificate in Project Management - NEW
The School of Business now offers a graduate programs in Project Management. The Graduate Certificate in Project Management
is intended for individuals in a wide range of fields who want to receive formal in-depth training in project management. An MBA Concentration in Project Management will be a new option for MBA students preparing for mid-to-upper level leadership roles in a variety of industries. The School of Business at Edgewood College hosted a very special Smith & Gesteland Executive Speaker Series event, “Healthcare Reform: It’s Your Business.” Peter Christman - Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer, UW Medical Foundation; Lon Sprecher - President and CEO, Dean Health Plan; Dave Rakel - Associate Professor and Director, UW Integrative Medicine Program; and Londa Dewey - President, QTI, discussed the impact and implications of healthcare reform on businesses and organization in Greater Madison.

MBA with Sustainability Leadership Concentration

Record-Setting Demand Projected for Accounting Graduates
The American Institute of CPAs recently reported "unprecedented level of demand from public accounting firms, with a
record 40,350 accounting graduates hired in 2012 and 89 percent of those
firms forecasting the same or increased hiring of graduates this year."
The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects nearly 16 percent growth for accountants between 2010 and 2020, which is much faster than the average growth for most other professions. An additional 190,700 accounting and auditing jobs will need to be filled during that time period. The profession's promising outlook has earned it the No. 21 spot on the Best Jobs of 2012 list. Take a look at the average salaries for college graduates in public and private accounting. According to the IMA Annual Salary Survey, 2011 - “Professionals who hold some form of certification—Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or both (CMA and CPA)—can earn nearly $22,000 more in average total compensation annually than noncertified peers.”

Edgewood College Accounting Students Provide Free Tax Assistance
Each year, Edgewood College undergraduate and graduate accounting students participate in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. This partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue, AARP, and Edgewood College provides free tax preparation assistance to people with low incomes, individuals with disabilities, seniors, and non-English speaking taxpayers. Edgewood College students are proud to provide this community service to more than 500 Dane County families annually.
GMAT Waived for Edgewood College Business Graduates
Taking the GMAT is no longer required for MBA applicants who have completed an undergraduate business degree with a GPA of 3.0 or above from Edgewood College within the past 5 years.
