Before coming to Edgewood, Amie accumulated over four years of experience with the Big Four firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (formerly known as Coopers & Lybrand L.L.P.).  She began her career in Detroit as an auditor and was later promoted to Senior Business Assurance Associate in Greensboro, NC.

After moving back to the Midwest, she started a teaching career at Edgewood College in January 1998. With over 15 years of teaching experience in the graduate and undergraduate programs, Amie provides invaluable perspective to students pursuing a career in accounting.

Serves as:

  • Chair of the Accounting Department
  • Lead Business Program Faculty on the Returning Adult Accelerated Degree (RAAD) Council
  • Faculty Advisor for Edgewood’s Accounting Club

Through the Accounting Club, she has led Edgewood to play an active role in Madison’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.  This work led to the Accounting Club receiving both a Community Services Leadership award from the IRS, and a Certificate of Appreciation for Outstanding Partnership from the State of Wisconsin.

Also through the Accounting Club, she organizes the annual Accounting Networking Dinners, now in its seventh year, with local firms, alumni, students and faculty.  Amie frequently presents research at conferences and also mentors student research. Recent venues for research have included the American Accounting Association Regional Meeting, the Distance Teaching & Learning Annual Conference and the Institute of Internal Auditors’ Manuscript Contest.

Amie currently holds a CPA license in the state of Wisconsin, and provides individualized CPA coaching and mentoring for students looking to sit for the CPA exam.

Amie completed her Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Edgewood College, with a concentration in Higher Education Leadership. Her research was focused upon competency-based education in business programs.

Outside of Edgewood, Amie can be found keeping up with her four teens and their various schedules, as well as volunteering for Queen of Peace in Madison.
