As the founder and CEO of Management Training Seminars, Elaine travels all over the world delivering high energy, high content presentations and seminars. She has been training professionals in management and leadership since 1976, sharing her wit and wisdom with audiences from Toronto to Rio de Janeiro (www.elainetrain.com).  Her clients include Harley-Davidson, Bayer, First Tennessee Bank, Quadgraphics, St. Mary’s Hospital, James Madison University, Oscar Mayer, Goodyear, The State of Wisconsin, CUNA, and TDS, among others.

Elaine has been teaching management and marketing since 1980, holding academic positions at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Detroit College of Business, and the Mercy College of Detroit. She has received numerous teaching awards, including:

  • Underkofler Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award
  • Faculty Award for Excellence in Academic Advising
  • Estervig-Beaubien Excellence in Teaching and Mentoring Award, which was created in her honor in 2002.
  • She was also selected as one of the Madison 100, “the people who, through their brains, talent, clout and charisma really make things happen in this city.”

Somehow, Elaine finds the time to volunteer for the American Cancer Society, The American Red Cross, Options for Community Living, Public Television and Radio, Hospice, Business and Professional Women and numerous student groups.  Elaine is also a published author of romance novels under the pen name of E.K. Barber.

You always know when Elaine is on campus; if you somehow miss her tie-dye bug in the parking lot, you’ll hear her laughter echoing down the halls.
