Marihelen Denning Stoltz has held positions at Pleasant Company, now Mattel Corporation, as a Customer Programs Marketing Analyst and Project Manager, as a Project Manager for EDS Corporation (Electronic Data Services), and as a professional business communication consultant. Stoltz was a regular morning guest on Channels 3 and 15 in Madison speaking about business communication topics. Stoltz also served as a panelist working with State of Wisconsin Supreme Court justices to select the first Public Information Officer for that judicial body.
Marihelen Stoltz has taught Business and Communication courses at the University of Wisconsin-Fond-du Lac, Upper Iowa University, and Herzing University. At UW-Fond du-Lac, Stoltz held both administrative and teaching positions, one being the executive editor/advisor of the campus newspaper—the Falcon Flier. She worked with the publisher of the Fond-du-Lac Reporter to come up with a unique concept that allowed students to work with newspaper professionals to create and publish their paper. The model was the only one of its kind in the University of Wisconsin system. Along the way, Stoltz received several meritorious teaching awards and was named the recipient of the prestigious Kaplan award—an award given to faculty with innovative teaching ideas that inspire and motivate students.
Stoltz holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, graduating cum laude; a Master’s Degree in Education, graduating magna cum laude; and is an ABD in Rhetoric/Linguistics. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious honor society.
