Dr. Barnard has taught at Edgewood College since 2003. He has a BA in Intercultural Studies (Biola University), MA in Asian Studies (University of Hawaii), an MSc and a PhD in Business (National University of Singapore). Mark teaches courses in Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior and Business Strategy. He also teaches and leads the International Study Tour for the RAAD and MBA programs. At the College, Mark currently serves on Planning and Budget, RAAD Council and the General Education Task Force.
Mark's research interests include strategy, employment relationships, psychological contracts and high performance work systems. He also is a reviewer for the annual Academy of Management conference for which he received an Outstanding Reviewer Award in 2007. He also serves as a judge for the annual Wisconsin Governor's Business Plan Contest.
Mark lived in China for one year where he taught English to undergraduate students, graduate students and faculty. He also lived in Singapore for eight years where he earned his PhD and taught at the National University of Singapore. He has also spent considerable time in Indonesia and has traveled extensively throughout Asia.
