Al has taught at Edgewood College since 1979 and still enjoys teaching each class as much as he did the day he started his academic career. Al teaches law and tax courses in the undergraduate, RAAD and graduate programs. He is a past recipient of the Underkofler Excellence in Teaching Award, a two-time winner of the Elaine Estervig Beaubien Award for Teaching and Mentoring and was especially honored to receive (based on a survey of our MBA alumni) the first ever MBA Outstanding Faculty Award presented in 2007. He is both a CPA and an attorney and maintains an active consulting practice.
Al has an undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and earned his JD, Cum Laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School. He has served as a grader for the Wisconsin Bar Exam. Al continues to expand his expertise in International Business having traveled to Thailand and Cambodia. In January of 2010 he was one of twenty professors chosen from the United States to participate in the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) program in Vietnam.
Al has served two terms as Faculty Representative to the College's Board of Trustees. Currently he serves on the Academic Rank and Tenure Committee of the College.
