Professor Beaubien is a tenured faculty member teaching management, and marketing to graduate and undergraduate students since 1980. After receiving her undergraduate degree in business administration and economics from the UW-Platteville, she joined the JC Penney Company as a department manager and fashion merchandiser. Leaving retailing, she earned an MBA from the University of Wisconsin where a Teaching Assistantship launched a career in higher education. Prior to Edgewood, she taught economics at the Detroit College of Business, marketing at Mercy College in Detroit and management at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Elaine, who is a respected educator, an experienced trainer, an accomplished speaker, a published writer and a successful entrepreneur has been the recipient of many awards including: the Underkofler Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award; the " Madison 100â€ recognizing her contributions to the City; the Estervig-Beaubien Excellence in Teaching and Mentoring Award created in her honor by undergraduate business students; and the Athena Award Nomination that honors a person who exemplifies excellence in his or her profession.
In addition to teaching, training, speaking and consulting, Elaine writes and had published business advice for several publications. She is also very active in civic and community activities, lending her time and expertise to several boards and committees.
