Professor Hayati has taught at Edgewood College since 2004. Before coming to Edgewood College he taught for nine years at Louisiana State University in Shreveport. Fazel also has fifteen years of experience working in the private sector. He received his BS and MBA degrees from LSU-Shreveport and earned his Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Auburn University.
Fazel teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Operations Management, Quality Management, and Business Calculus. He has a special interest and expertise in quality management and quality improvement in the health care industry. He has extensive knowledge of the continuous improvement principles espoused by Dr. W. Edwards Deming and of the practical application of these principles in both classroom and business settings.
Fazel volunteers a considerable amount of time to local organizations such as Big Brothe -Big Sister, UNIDOS Against Domestic Abuse, and the Samaritan Counseling Service.
