Professor Schroeder has a BS in Mathematics and Physics, an MS in Mathematics, a PhD in Applied Mathematics/Statistics and an MBA in Finance (all degrees are from UW Madison). During the 1980s Gary worked at the Mathematics Research Center at UW Madison, and taught extensively in the UW-Madison School of Business and the Department of Statistics. He is published in Quantitative Methods.
Gary has taught at Edgewood College since 1990, teaching Finance, Operations Management, Statistics and Quantitative Methods. From 1993 – 2006 Gary served as Chair of the Business Department/School of Business and in 2006-2007 as the Interim Dean of the School of Business. In these positions Gary oversaw many improvements to Business Programs, including the accreditation of the School of Business by the ACBSP. He has extensive experience in Business Program development and scheduling. During his time at Edgewood Gary has also served on many college-wide committees. He currently serves as the Chair of the Finance Concentration, the Chair of the Academic Business Assessment Committee and as a member of the Undergraduate Business Program Committee.
After receiving a BS Degree, Gary worked as a Business Computer Salesperson with the Burroughs Corporation and later became a pilot in the United States Air Force. In the Air Force, he served in Flying Safety, Command Post, Supply and Operations Planning positions. Gary retired from the Air Force Reserve with 24 years of flying and command experience.
