As a business student at Edgewood College you will find that one of The School of Business's major strengths is a broad-based faculty who bring a wide variety of real-world experience to the classroom. This means you will receive a solid background in the skills required for the ever-changing world of business. While a technical background is important, employers also look for well-rounded employees who have a broad foundation in the liberal arts, wide general knowledge of the field, and the imagination to create and understand new ideas.
Because we know it's important for you to have hands-on experience, you will have the opportunity to do an internship in your area of concentration. Many of our students get their first jobs with the same firm where they interned. Business students have pursued careers in accounting, advertising, human resources, sales, financial planning, and many other fields. Through the internship experience, students have worked with TDS Metrocom, Oscar Mayer, American Family Insurance, Northwestern Mutual Life, Virchow Krause and Lands' End.
If you'd like to continue your business education after graduating, Edgewood offers a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Accountancy. Our graduate programs prepare students for careers in management and administration and to sit for the CPA exam. Some undergraduate students are even eligible to begin taking graduate classes before they complete their bachelor's degree.
