Psalm 18:2-7. I love you, O God, my strength, my rock, my fortress, my deliverer. My God, my rock of refuge, my shield, my saving horn, my stronghold!
| The phrase that
stands out for me is within the second: “My God, my rock of refuge, my shield.” With
all of the tragedy that is happening in the world today – from war in the Middle
East to the earthquakes in Haiti – perhaps we can find refuge within ourselves
through prayer. Although it seems that we can be overwhelmed by the death “surging
round about us,” God can calm our fears, strengthen us from within and give us hope
when there seems to be none. - Maureen Vandervest, Assistant Registrar, Registrar’s Office |
