Psalm 46:2-3, 5-6, 8-9. God is our refuge and our strength, an ever-present help in distress. Thus we do not fear, though earth be shaken and mountains quake to the depths of the sea.

really made me see how we live our lives day to day. Throughout our lives we are
shaken, we go through many ups and downs. Some days we are very high and it seems
like nothing can touch or hurt us, but other days we fall and break down; it never
seems like we can get back up and it seems like we are drowning. But as the text
states, God is our refuge and our strength. God has put people on our earth who
help us get through those lows, and they help us break through and breathe again. We need to look to those people for guidance in our lives. We could be having the worst of days, but we need to remember that God has given us people in our lives who will help us get through. We also need to remember that we are one of those people who help others in distress and help them in their time of need. Remember that God is there to help us break through and give us strength – God has given us people in our lives that we can look to for guidance and show us that tomorrow will be a better day. - Megan Scheele, Senior, Elementary Education |
