Hosea 14:2-10. Thus says God: Return, O Israel, to your God; you have collapsed through your guilt. I will heal their defection, says God, I will love them freely; for my wrath is turned away from them.

As humans, we are fallible creations and we inevitably make mistakes and turn away from God. During Lent we are constantly reminded of God’s love for us so that we can mend our relationship with God. In order to return to a right relationship with God we need to recognize our faults and ask for forgiveness. This should be easy because the reading reminds us that God loves us freely and accepts us with all of our faults.

Do we always accept the faults of others and love them freely?
