Isaiah 49:8-15. God says: “In a time of favor I answer you, on the day of salvation I help you…Saying to the prisoners: Come out! To those in darkness: Show yourselves…They shall not hunger or thirst, nor shall the scorching wind or the sun strike them…Can a mother forget her infant, be without tenderness for the child of her womb? Even should she forget, I will never forget you.”
| As I reflect on
this reading from the book of Isaiah, I realize that this passage encourages
everyone to show their true self and to have determination. God will provide
for those who need assistance and will guide them through life’s journeys.
This reading really relates to students and the challenges they face. It is
not always easy to be yourself or to stand up for what you believe in, but
knowing that you have God’s comfort gives you confidence to take chances and
to be the best person you can possibly be. If you trust in God, no harm will
be inflicted upon you. So do not hide yourself in the dark, shine your beautiful
light for the people of the world to see. God is here to protect us; and although
you may be afraid, God will never forget you or abandon you. - Brittany Storhoff, Sophomore, Nursing |
