• Online classes are asynchronous – while there are weekly assignments and deadlines, you can attend class online anytime that best fits your schedule.
• You can expect to spend about 12 to 15 hours per week working in an online course.
• Some programs require a face-to-face session or two during the course of the entire degree completion schedule. See the Degree Requirements section of each individual program for details.
• Most courses are 8 weeks long.
• Some programs offer the flexibility to switch between taking classes online and face-to-face, depending on your schedule and needs.
• We use the Blackboard course management system as our online classroom. You’ll receive training in Blackboard prior to starting your online course and IT support will be available to you while you are a student at Edgewood College.
• One-to-one interactions with instructors are available through on-line chat, email, Skype or telephone.

• Successful online students are self-motivated, possess strong time management skills, enjoy working independently and are able to easily express themselves in writing.
• You don’t need to be an expert in computers or own top-of-the-line equipment, but you should be comfortable working with technology and you will need reliable internet access.
• Edgewood College online courses are not structured like old-fashioned correspondence classes. You will be required to regularly log on and participate actively in class discussions and activities. You will likely be expected to participate in some collaborative group activities as well.
• You can expect your instructor to be actively engaged in the course and responsive to your questions and needs. Our online courses are engaging and participatory. You’ll become part of a close-knit community of learners, just as you would in any of our face-to-face graduate degree programs.
