Post Baccalaureate Admissions

Students that have already earned a bachelor’s degree and are interested in taking additional courses towards another major, a teacher certification or another degree are considered post-baccalaureate students.  They are also referred to as “post-baccs.”

Edgewood College welcomes over 100 post-baccalaureate students every year.  We hope you are one of the next students to join our community.

While we have post-bacc students studying academic departments (hyperlink to academics page) across the college, here is some quick information about the two most popular post-bacc programs.

There are two options to earn a teacher certification for students who already hold a bachelor's degree.

1. If you currently hold a degree in History, English or Science and are interested in an accelerated program that leads to a secondary education certification and a master's degree, you will apply through our School of Graduate and Professional Studies.  For more information, click here 

2. If you currently hold a degree and are interested in becoming certified to teach at the Elementary level (Early Childhood not included) in an evening and week-end format, you will apply through our School of Graduate and Professional Studies. For more information, click here

3. If you are interested in a secondary education certification OR in the areas below in the traditional format, you will apply as an undergraduate post-baccalaureate student.
      

• Early Childhood: Special Education (Birth to Age 8)
• Early Childhood: Regular Education (Birth to Age 8)
• Elementary Education with Early Childhood minor (Birth to Age 11)
• Elementary Education (Age 6 to 13)
• Secondary Education (Age 10 to 21)
• Art, Business, Foreign Language, Music or Theater (Birth to Age 21)

Applicants for admission to Edgewood College are required to submit the following:

• College Transcripts – from all previous colleges attended
• High School Transcripts – if pursuing nursing

Please note that admission to Edgewood College does not guarantee admission into individual schools or programs.  Additional entrance requirements may be required for some programs including, but not limited to, nursing and education.
