Secondary License Cohort Course and Degree Requirements
The following courses are required to complete the license certification:
- ED 601 Foundations of Instruction
- ED 614 Cross Categorical Children and Youth
- ED 634 Classroom Organization and Management
- ED 640 Technology Curriculum Integration
- ED 651 Curriculum Development in Interdisciplinary Studies
- ED 652 Seminar in Curriculum Studies
- ED 660 Seminar in Policy Studies in Education
- ED 693 Supervised Field Teaching
When a candidate also seeks a master's degree, the required courses are incorporated into the master's degree plan:
Master of Arts in Education Degree Requirements
Each student must complete a minimum of 33 credits to receive the Master of Arts in Education degree.
The curriculum includes the following requirements:
- Professional education core requirements (12 credits)
- Concentration requirements (18 credits)
- Guided research studies (3 credits)
- Supervised field experience, as appropriate
- Specialized professional studies electives
PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION CORE REQUIREMENTS
(12 credits; 4 courses)
Provide advanced studies in instruction, curriculum planning,
educational administration, and research.
