As an art student at Edgewood, you will join a diverse community and be encouraged to express yourself through a wide variety of media. Supportive instructors encourage personal development and are able to work alongside you in studio classes that may have as few as four other students. Personal attention is key as you experience the challenge of the artistic experience.

Our students have access to gallery space, studios, equipment for drawing, painting, fibers, printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics, video, graphics, 3-D animation, and design.

The DeRicci Gallery hosts local and regional artists who display and discuss their artwork on a monthly basis. At the end of the academic year, you will have the opportunity to display your artwork in the DeRicci gallery. As an art major, you will be able to install your senior show in the gallery or elsewhere on campus. In addition, you’ll enjoy access to many galleries and museums around the city including the Chazen Museum of Art and the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art.

In 2005, Edgewood College created an art studio and study center in Valton, Wisconsin for educational programs, art workshops, and cultural events. The study center is used to research The Painted Forest, a historical site famous for its wall to ceiling murals, other types of folk art, and historic presentation.
