Mission Statement and Policies

As a business student at Edgewood College you will find that one of The School of Business’s major strengths is a broad-based faculty who bring a wide variety of real-world experience to the classroom. This means you will receive a solid background in the skills required for the ever-changing world of business. While a technical background is important, employers also look for well-rounded employees who have a broad foundation in the liberal arts, wide general knowledge of the field, and the imagination to create and understand new ideas. Because we know it’s important for you to have hands-on experience, you will have the opportunity to do an internship in your area of concentration. Many of our students get their first jobs with the same firm where they interned.

You will also have the chance to be a part of Students-In-Free-Enterprise (SIFE). SIFE (www.sife.org) is an international student organization on more than 1,500 college campuses in 37 countries. Edgewood College SIFE members work as teams to design and implement educational outreach projects that empower individuals through the development of a better understanding of free enterprise. As part of the SIFE team, you will participate in regional and national competitions. Edgewood’s team has been Chicago Regional champions on several occasions.

If you’d like to continue your Business Education after graduating, Edgewood offers a Master of Business Administration program. Our MBA program prepares students for careers in management and administration. Often, undergraduate students can take graduate-level business courses.
