Announcing the Eagle Grant
Edgewood College is pleased to announce the creation of the Eagle Grant.
In partnership with the new Yellow Ribbon Program, the Eagle Grant will allow veterans, who qualify under that Federal Program, the opportunity to attend Edgewood College tuition-free.
This is an important new initiative, one that honors the men and women who have given so much on behalf of all of us.
We also believe one of the best ways to address our current economic situation is to continue to work to be an important educational resource for Wisconsin, and for the Midwest. This program contributes to that goal.
Dan Carey, president of the College and himself a veteran, says “Part of our mission is educating students for meaningful personal and professional lives of ethical leadership, service, and the lifelong search for truth. We know that many veterans deeply hold these values as well.” Carey says the GI Bill made it possible for him to continue his education after serving as a US Army infantry officer in Vietnam.
“I feel a personal obligation to provide the quality education and the support to veterans today that was provided for me,” Carey says. “The last generation of veterans included many of today’s leaders. Some of tomorrow’s leaders are in this generation of veterans. We are proud to do our part to contribute to their education.”
