Job Description:

Facilities Assistants - Summer position Facilities Assistants will be performing a variety of tasks related to the cleaning and painting of the college. The majority of work will be restorative cleaning of the Residence Halls and general housekeeping services for summer rental groups.

Custodial Workers needed to perform routine custodial, maintenance and housekeeping work involving a variety of manual tasks. Duties will be suited to fit individuals applying. Responsibilities include, cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting, scrubbing floors and stairways; shampooing carpeting; and clean, dust and polish furniture, along with office and classroom equipment; empty wastebaskets, wash windows, mirrors and drinking fountains; remove blemishes and marks from walls; occasionally assist in unloading trucks and replenish supplies as needed; move furniture; shovel show; change light bulbs and perform other incidental building maintenance tasks.

Skills Needed:

For Facilities Assistants: Experience in cleaning and/or painting is preferred but will train new hires on the job.
Hours needed: 40 hours per week, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Monday – Friday
Starts Monday, 5/19/08 and ends Friday, 8/22/08 – 14 weeks total
College closed so no work on the two Holidays, Monday, 5/26/08 and Friday, 7/4/08.

For Custodial Workers: Ability to follow oral and written instructions, perform tasks without close supervision, deal tactfully and courteously with students, employees and other persons on campus. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
