Sr. Mary Nona McGreal

Sr. Mary Nona McGreal "On August 24, 1950, Sr. Mary Nona McGreal joined … a meeting that would mark a new era in the history of Edgewood College. The minutes of that first meeting centered around ‘the pressing need for expansion,’ ‘prospects for enrollment,’ and the academic program. The most telling sentences of those minutes, however, record the fact that ‘the enthusiasm of the [new] President created an atmosphere of greater optimism for the future. She said, ‘Edgewood [College] has great possibilities and we shall develop them."

“The record of the years of Sister Nona’s administration – between 1950 and 1968 – is a remarkable one. Her vision for Edgewood College and her ability as a leader on all levels enabled the College… to move to a level of accomplishment that few thought possible. … During the first fifty years of the college’s existence, no single person had a greater role in the expansion and development of Edgewood College than Sr. Mary Nona McGreal
