Meet Suann & Matt
Suann and Matt Saltzberry, ’05 & ‘03
After graduation, Matt continued his education at the UW-Madison and earned a
degree in Landscape Architecture. He is currently employed at Rettler Corporation.
Suann found her way back to the Edgedome and in 2006 began her career in the
Athletic Department. The Edgewood College romance was confirmed in September of 2007.
What is your favorite Edgewood College memory? We have so many favorite memories at Edgewood College together. As student-athletes however, we remember most of our countless hours spent in the Edgedome. The Edgedome was a great place not only for practice and competitive games, but a place for students to show off their skills on the court.
What was unique about your Edgewood College experience? The most unique experience we both had was that of Edgewood College being a complete community. As student-athletes, people in the community really looked after us, whether it be faculty, staff, coaches, and/or other students.
How has Edgewood College affected your professional and personal growth? The excellent faculty and staff at Edgewood College enhanced our professional and personal growth because they didn’t just teach class material, they taught lifelong skills. The “out of class” skills were demonstrated daily from faculty and staff. These skills are used more often by us than the skills learned through class material.
Why did you decide to give to Edgewood College? We decided to give because we want students at Edgewood College to enjoy their experience at college as much as we did. We feel that giving back is the least that we can do. Edgewood College did so much for us, including finding each other!
And why should others? Others should give because an Edgewood College education is invaluable. Giving back to the college will allow more opportunities for students to receive the “in and out of classroom teachings” that will aid in making a just world.
