Housing
Edgewood College has several options for community living within our 7 residence halls and
apartment buildings, including: Regina Hall (female), Marshall Hall (coed), Marie Stephen
Reges “Stevie” Hall (coed), the New Residence Hall (coed), Weber Apartments (coed), Siena
Apartments (coed) and Rosewood House (female.) The residence life staff includes a Director,
Assistant Director, Hall Director, Assistant Director of Student Activities, a Housing
Coordinator and 21 student staff. The staff provides counseling, student development programming
opportunities and community building experiences for the resident students. The staff also serves
as a liaison with other offices and services and provides enforcement of all college policies
pertaining to residence life.
Research shows that the first two years of college are a critical time
for students to develop academic and social networks in order to facilitate academic success,
persistence, and satisfaction. Therefore, we are committed to providing a supportive and
positive campus environment conducive to student engagement and learning for all students,
particularly for our freshman and sophomores. At Edgewood, freshmen students under the age
of 21 are required to live on campus for their first two academic years unless they choose to
live with a family member and/or legal guardian (who is over the age of 25 and within
commuting distance.) Students who sign a contract and move in to the halls their freshman year,
are held to the residency requirement for their freshman and sophomore years (i.e. they
may not move home after one year.)
All residents are encouraged to make the most of their residence hall experience.
One of the ways to meet other residents is to take part in the many activities that re sponsored in
the residence halls. Student Resident Assistants (RAs) organize activities throughout the semester
and tailor programs to meet resident interests. Another way to be involved in residence hall life
is through the Residence Life Advisory Board (RLAB), which is the student governing body for
the residence halls.
Information regarding residence hall procedures and policies is provided in detail in the
Guide to Residence Life that all resident students receive when they check into the residence halls.
Further information regarding life on campus may be obtained from the Residence Life Office at 663-3228.
