Madison, Wis. (November 25, 2013) – The Veterans Services Office at Edgewood College invites Greater Madison to a screening of “Where Soldiers Come From,” an award winning documentary about a small group of friends who decide to join the military together. The group deploys to Afghanistan, returns safely, and is forever changed.
The film and panel discussion is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., Monday December 9, in Anderson Auditorium. There is no cost to attend.
“This acclaimed film analyzes the human side of what these young people go through,” said Matthew Schroeder, Veterans Services Coordinator at Edgewood College. “Together with the panel of our veteran students telling their stories, this program will highlight the veteran experience for all who attend.” Schroeder is a graduate of the College, and is himself a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
This powerful and intimate film explores the people who fight in wars and how they are affected when they return home. Immediately following the film there will be a diverse panel of Edgewood College student veterans to discuss their personal experiences in the military, and their ongoing return home. Guests are advised the film is a gritty look at real-world experiences; the film contains coarse language.
