Endress named head women's basketball, women's golf
coach at Edgewood College
Madison, Wis. – Edgewood College athletic director Dr. G. Steven
Larson announced Monday that Bobbi Endress has been named the
school’s head women’s basketball and women’s golf coach. Endress,
who comes from the University of Dubuque, will also serve as
Edgewood’s Senior Woman Administrator. “This is an exciting
opportunity, and I believe the foundations are already in place,”
said Endress. “I’m looking forward to taking both programs to the
next level.”
Since 2001, Endress has served as Dubuque’s top women’s
basketball assistant. The Spartans finished with a 14-12 overall
record in 2003-04, the school’s best finish in 16 years. Over the
last two seasons, Endress has coached three all-conference
performers in the competitive Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference (IIAC), including the league’s back-to-back runner-up for
Player of the Year. She also saw her team break 10 school records
during the 2002-03 campaign, in which Dubuque accumulated a 12-13
overall record.
In addition to her responsibilities with Dubuque’s women’s
basketball program, Endress has served as the Spartans’ head women’s
golf coach and assistant softball coach since 2002. Endress
resurrected the women’s golf program in 2002 and in 2003 boasted the
school’s first medalist in six years. Endress was also a member of
the women’s basketball coaching staff at Clarke College during the
2000-01 season.
“We are very pleased to have Bobbi join our staff,” said Larson.
“She brings experience as both a coach and former student-athlete at
similar NCAA Division III private colleges. She has been
instrumental in player development and recruiting as the assistant
women’s basketball coach and head women’s golf coach at the
University of Dubuque. We feel she will strengthen both of these
programs here at Edgewood College.”
Endress graduated from the University of Dubuque with a degree in
physical education in May of 2000, following an outstanding playing
career with the women’s basketball program. The three-year team
captain finished fourth all-time in assists and second in games
played. In 2003, Endress received the school’s All-Time Greatest
Players Award.
Endress earned a master’s degree in physical education with an
emphasis in sports administration from Loras College in December of
2003. A native of Morrison, Ill., Endress was inducted into the
Morrison High School Athletic Hall of Fame in October of 2003. She
is an active member of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association,
United States Golf Association, and the PGA Partner’s Club.
Edgewood College women’s basketball finished second in the Lake
Michigan Conference in 2003-04 with an 8-4 league record, including
a 13-15 mark overall. Edgewood’s women’s golf program placed second
in the 2003 LMC Championship and returns the league’s Rookie of the
Year, sophomore Nicole Gluzinski, for the 2004 season.
