Larson named Vice President of NADIIIAA

Madison, Wis. – Edgewood College athletic director Dr. G. Steven Larson has been appointed vice president of the National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators (NADIIIAA). The position is a two-year appointment followed by a two-year term as the organization’s president.

“It will be both exciting and rewarding to work with such dedicated individuals on the national level,” said Larson, who is in his 19th year as athletic director and head men’s basketball coach at Edgewood College. “This is a group that has a strong passion for NCAA Division III programs and our student-athletes.”

One of the primary goals of the NADIIIAA is to “provide a unifying vehicle that can serve as a resource and focus attention on issues specific to the membership of Division III of the NCAA.” It also provides a forum to its members for the exchange ideas and suggestions on how to continue the development of athletic programs and student-athletes based on “sound educational philosophy.”

In addition to serving on the executive committee, one of Larson’s main responsibilities will be overseeing and organizing the NADIIIAA professional development session at the NCAA convention.

“NADIIIAA does an outstanding job of sharing and exchanging ideas that are beneficial to DIII athletics,” said Larson. “They also do well recognizing the diversity of the membership within the division and take into account the differing missions and philosophies of the institutions. I am honored to serve with this distinguished group.”
