MADISON, WI. (November 22, 2005) – Edgewood
College today announced the appointment of Mary Kelly-Powell
as Vice President for Academic Affairs. Kelly-Powell had
served in an interim capacity in that role since June of
this year.
Edgewood College President Daniel J. Carey
said, “Mary Kelly-Powell is the ideal professional to help
lead the College at this important time in our history. She
enjoys the full faith and trust of her colleagues, the
administrative team, and the College community. The students
at Edgewood College are the real beneficiaries; Mary
Kelly-Powell brings experience, expertise, and compassion
along with her responsibilities to our students.”

Kelly-Powell previously served as chair of
the Nursing Department at Edgewood College when she was
asked to serve as interim Vice President earlier this year.
“I am thrilled and honored to be asked to
serve our students, faculty and staff as Vice President for
Academic Affairs,” Kelly-Powell said. “This is a very
exciting time in the life of the College. We’re continuing
to restructure the way we organize our academic departments.
We’re changing our general educational requirements. We have
new opportunities to serve students through our new Deming
Way campus. We’ll continue to work together to give Edgewood
College students the best possible education.”
