Safety and Security

The Department of Security takes an active role in ensuring the personal safety, security, and well-being of Students, Faculty and Staff at Edgewood College.

Edgewood College Security works closely with the City of Madison Police Department and the U-W Madison Police Department to ensure that areas away from campus are as safe as possible. We are a community within a community and an active part of the City of Madison and its residents.

Security Officers act as liaisons with local police and fire agencies and provide information about the College and local areas to visitors and members of the community. They provide escort service to campus parking areas and residence halls upon request. They also assist in fire and tornado drills.

The Security department is staffed by four full-time officers. In addition, students serve as additional officers. The department maintains a staffed presence 24-hours-a-day.

To report a security or safety concern, leave a message for the Director of Security at (608) 663-3285. To summon an officer or report an emergency, call the Campus Assistance Center at (608) 663-4444.

In compliance with the U.S. Department of Education regulations for the Crime Awareness Act of 1990, the College makes public annual crime statistics as they relate to the College. Please see the left-hand navigation bar of this page for Annual Reports.
