Sister Stevie Hall is a co-ed hall with share lounge areas. The resident rooms are arranged as suites, with two very large bedrooms connected by a shared bathroom with two sinks on each side, two showers, and one toilet. In each floor lounge there is a cable TV access and a kitchenette for resident use. There is a computer lounge on the third floor with computers for accessing email. The building is centrally air conditioned.
Rooms
No painting of the rooms is allowed. The rooms are painted white,
so any color scheme you like should work well. All windows have
mini blinds, so you will not need to bring curtains. All rooms are
fully carpeted. Room dimensions are as follows:
Furniture
Each student in Stevie Hall will have an extra long twin size bed. All beds in Stevie
Hall are bunkable, so loft building is not permitted. The mattresses measure 36” x 80”.
There is also a desk, chair, and closet and drawer space for each resident.
Shared Facilities
There are coin operated washers and dryers on each floor ($1.25 to wash and $1.00 to dry),
a kitchenette on first and third floors with an oven and microwave, a computer room and
a study lounge on each floor.
Telephone
Each room may be equipped, at the request of the resident, with a telephone. Each
telephone has voice mail and local phone service, which is also shared by the room
residents. Residents may individually sign up for long-distance service which will
be billed separately. You may also use a personal calling card or cell phone for
making long-distance calls.
Cable TV
Cable television hook up in rooms is optional and available at the expense of
residents in Marshall, Regina, Stevie, Siena, Weber, Dominican and Rosewood. To receive
expanded basic cable (approximately 70 channels) in a residence hall room,
only one resident per room needs to sign up for cable service. To sign up,
obtain a Residence Hall Cable TV Connection form, available at residence hall
check-in, the Business Office or the Technology Assistance Center. Please complete
the form and take it to the Business Office and pay for the service. The Technology
Assistance Center will then maintain the connection. In multiple occupancy rooms
it is not necessary for all room residents to sign up for/pay for cable. If residents
wish to share the cost they must do so on their own. The college will not split the
charge for students. Students may sign up per semester or per year. All cable fees are non-refundable.
Please keep this in mind, especially when considering a room change or withdrawal.
Please note that cable will be turned on for all residents through Tuesday, September 12.
If you choose not to sign up, your cable will be turned off after this date. Also, you will
need a cable cord to connect your TV to the cable jack in the room.
Computer/Internet
All rooms are wired for access to the campus Local Area Network (LAN) and a hard wire internet
connection for each room resident is included in the room fee. Internet access is activated when
students move in. Wireless access is available in the residence halls, the Regina
cafeteria, Predolin Commons and the Library. For a hard wire internet connection in your
residence hall room, it is required that you have a 10/100 base-T NE200 card and
current anti-virus software on your computer (anti-virus software will be provided for
each room at move in.) Both will be required for the Technology Assistance Center to maintain
your residence hall internet connection. If you need an internet cable, please go to the
Technology Assistance Center, located in the Library. For more information, please contact the
Technology Assistance Center at (608) 663-6900 or by email at
