Applying for Financial Aid

  1. Be accepted for admission to Edgewood College. Applications are available online.
  2. Apply for PIN numbers for both Parent and Student Aid which serve as electronic signatures if you will be filing online at www.pin.ed.gov.
  3. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The priority filing date is March 1. You may file your FAFSA after January 1st.

Edgewood Financial Aid

These awards are renewable and awarded in varied amounts. Continuous, full-time enrollment is required. Students admitted to Edgewood College are invited to create an account to complete our Edgewood Financial Aid Application. Students may use the application to apply for one or more of the following awards.

Transfer Scholarship Available to highly qualified students who transfer to Edgewood College from an accredited institution. Student must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale. Priority Deadline: June 1.

Ethnic Studies Award ($500-$1,500) Awarded to students who plan to pursue a minor in Ethnic Studies. Ethnic Studies is an interdisciplinary minor that examines identity, language, religious and cultural practices, economics, and values across diverse populations in the United States. Fine Arts Award ($500–$1,500) – Awarded to talented students who plan to continue their participation in the areas of Art, Music, Theatre, Creative Writing, and Foreign Languages at Edgewood College. Please visit www.edgewood.edu/financial/freshman/finearts for more details. Priority Deadline for auditions/interviews/reviews: May 1.

Alumni Award ($500-$1,500) – Awarded to students whose parents or grandparents are Edgewood College alumni and who demonstrate financial need.

Edgewood Grant – An institutional grant awarded to students who demonstrate financial need.

Federal and State Financial Aid

Federal Pell Grant - A federally funded need based grant awarded to undergraduate students who have not yet earned a Bachelor’s degree and who have exceptional need.

Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (SEOG) - A federally funded need based grant awarded to undergraduate students, with priority given to Pell Grant recipients.

Federal Work Study – Allows students with financial need to earn money to help pay educational expenses.

Wisconsin Tuition Grant - Wisconsin residents who attend Wisconsin private colleges such as Edgewood may be eligible for this grant program.

Wisconsin Division of Vocational Rehabilitation - This Wisconsin agency serves students who have any disability which presents a substantial handicap to future employment. Students may contact their representative at 608-266-3058 for further information, or call toll free, 800-362-9611. Non-Wisconsin residents should contact their home state division.

Federal Perkins Loan – A low interest (5%) loan program for students with exceptional financial need. You must repay this loan. Re-payment begins nine months after you graduate, leave school, or drop below half-time status.

Federal Stafford Loan – A low interest (6%) loan program. You must repay this loan. Re-payment begins six months after you graduate, leave school, or drop below half-time status. Available in two forms:

  • Subsidized – awarded based on financial need. The federal government “subsidizes” the interest while you attend school.
  • Unsubsidized – available to students without financial need. Interest is charged from the time the loan is disbursed until it is paid in full.
