Edgewood College / MATC 2+2 Program Guide
Earn your Associate in Arts or Associate in Science Liberal Arts Transfer Degree at MATC then transfer into your major at Edgewood College.
Edgewood College will accept Madison Area Technical College’s Associate in Arts (AA) and Associate in Science (AS) Liberal Arts Transfer degrees in fulfillment of most* of Edgewood’s Foundation Requirements.
Transfer Details:
- *Student earning an AA or AS in Liberal Arts Transfer prior to enrolling at Edgewood will be said to have completed Edgewood’s liberal arts Foundation requirements with the following exceptions: religious studies, foreign language, computer competency, and the Human Issues project.
- If you plan ahead, you can complete several of these “exception” courses prior to transferring to Edgewood:
- F8 Religious Studies - can be fulfilled by East/West World Views 809-263
- Foreign Language - can be obtained with a grade of ‘C’ or higher for two semesters of a college language (or with two years of a language from past high school study)
- Human Issues - a unique requirement that must be completed at Edgewood
- Computer Competency - most often obtained through a
course in your major at Edgewood
- Edgewood will accept up to 60 transfer credits of the AA or AS coursework for which the student earned a ‘C’ or better. Students will not be eligible to transfer in any other credits beyond the 60 from a 2-year institution.
- Some majors require specific Foundation courses. For example, Business Majors need Micro & Macro Economics; Education Majors need a course in State & Local Government. These courses can be taken at MATC prior to transferring. To discuss major specific requirements simply contact Edgewood’s Transfer Admissions Counselor.
Approved by the Edgewood College Faculty Association. Effective for students earning their associate degree in Fall 1997 and beyond. Students participating in this program must have earned their associate degree prior to enrolling in any courses at Edgewood College.
