Questions:

Are my responses confidential?

Yes, your privacy is our number one concern, therefore your participation in and responses to this survey are both strictly confidential and voluntary.

What precautionary steps will be taken to protect my confidentiality in the analysis and reporting of survey results?

You will not be asked to provide any personally identifying information (PII) on the survey aside from the demographic questions that have been deemed necessary for the analysis of survey results. The analysts will not report any results for groups of fewer than 5 individuals that may be small enough to compromise identity. Instead, the analysts will combine the groups to eliminate any potential for identifiable demographic information.

Furthermore, at the end of the survey you will be notified of your completion of the survey and asked to click a ‘submit’ button so that your responses are recorded. You will then be redirected to an entirely different survey in which you will have the option of entering your name into the prize drawing (see incentives). In other words, your survey responses will be completely separated from your name and any other potentially PII.

Lastly, any comments provided by participants are also separated at submission so that comments are not attributed to any demographic characteristics. These comments will be analyzed using content analysis and submitted as an appendix to the survey report. Quotes from submitted comments will also be used throughout the report to give “voice” to the quantitative data. Any open-ended responses that are shared will be pre-screened and any names that respondents' may have included will be removed.

Why it is important to answer demographic questions?

The survey planning group made a conscious effort to keep the number of demographic questions to only those that are essential to the analysis and interpretation of the results. Knowing the demographic profile of the survey respondents is a necessary piece for analyzing, interpreting, and ensuring actionable results.

While we respect your right to skip or select “prefer not respond” to any question on the survey, we hope you understand the importance of answering the set of demographic questions asked of you at the end of the survey. Your voice can easily get lost in the analysis if you choose not to respond to the demographic questions.

How will Edgewood use the results?
