Built in 1990, the Oscar Rennebohm Library is nestled
into the woods on the edge of campus, facing the Native
American bird effigy mound. The Library houses the
College's collection of books, periodicals, and video
and audio materials. It has an online catalog, Edgecat,
which students may access from their residence halls
through a local area network that connects the buildings
on campus.
The dominant feature of the library is an open
semicircular reading atrium with windows that look out
onto the woods along the shore of Lake Wingra. The
library also has a central conference room, small study
rooms, and classrooms across the front of the second
floor. The Department of Instructional Technology is
housed in the Library and has audiovisual equipment for
classroom and building use, as well as a presentation
and production facility. The college archives also are
located in the Library.
