On September 29, 2000, Edgewood faculty, staff, students, and friends joined
together to dedicate the new, 52,000 square-foot Henry J. Predolin Humanities
Center. Adjacent to DeRicci Hall, the building's main purpose is to bring
together the college’s humanities departments of Religious Studies, Philosophy,
English, and History, as well as the Religious Studies Institute and the Human
Issues Program. Establishment of the center will foster stronger humanities
programs and nurture the humanist tradition of teaching at Edgewood.
On the first floor of the Predolin Humanities Center is the 250-seat Don and
Marilyn Anderson Amphitheater. The second floor has a new student activities
center, complete with a terrace to the DeRicci Hall Quadrangle in the rear of
the building. The third floor contains expansive classrooms, individual faculty
offices, and a spacious faculty lounge overlooking the heart of campus.
