Cutting-Edge Coordinator of Alumni Relations

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:   

The Cutting-Edge Coordinator Alumni Relations assists alumni (students and parents) of the Cutting-Edge program in staying connected and engaged with the Edgewood College campus community and Cutting-Edge. The Coordinator works with the Director of the Cutting-Edge program and the Alumni Advisory Board to establish member benefit packages that include access to campus facilities, events, directories, and social networking. The Coordinator organizes and plans 6 major events throughout the year; which are communicated through bi-annual newsletters and social media. The Coordinator is also responsible for facilitating annual person-centered life plans that assist young adults with intellectual disabilities in developing goals that are focused on independence, meaningful employment, life-long learning and valued relationships. The Coordinator serves as a resource to parents and families on community-based services that are accessible to the alumni. The Coordinator needs to maintain a professional presence that invokes confidence in the Cutting-Edge program. Successful candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion on campus and in the community.
The Cutting-Edge Coordinator of Alumni Relations serves as the primary point so that the alumni stay connected and ensures that they have a successful post-college experience. The Coordinator strives to empower members to make responsible decisions, and determine their own goals for independence.

Responsibilities include:

Alumni Program Development & Leadership

  • Oversees the operations of the Cutting-Edge Alumni Association
  • Serves as staff to the Cutting-Edge Alumni Association Advisory Board
  • Coordinates annual membership directory and serves as central location for association communication
  • Coordinates enrollment and renewal of membership fees
  • Primary writer of a bi-annual alumni newsletter
  • Coordinates the Calendar of Events
  • Maintains ongoing communication with college administration

Events Coordinator

  • Coordinates social networking events
  • Coordinates professional development seminars
  • Coordinates annual fundraiser

Person-Centered Planning & Self-Determination Services

  • Acts as the primary point of contact to address alumni needs and provide referrals to community-based resources and services
  • Facilitates Person-Centered Planning sessions
  • Develops Individual Post-College Alumni Plans
  • Counsels alumni in relationship building and conflict resolution
  • Collaborates with community services providers
  • Additional duties as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Necessary Education or Work Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Special Education, Social Work, Psychology or related degree
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in administrative management of services for adult learners with disabilities;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills 

 

Required Technology Skills:

  • Ability to use online applications and mobile devises
  • Ability to incorporate assistive technology into the program
  • Ability to access and enter information in software record keeping
  • Ability to maintain data on spreadsheets
  • Ability to communicate effectively via email, texting, and video conferencing

Required Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • Ability to collaborate with individual student support teams
