Student Development Project Coordinator

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:

The Student Development Project Coordinator provides administrative support, project management and communication coordination for the Division of Student Development in activities which support the College mission, goals and programs. This position will also assist the Dean of Students/Residence Life Office in flow and coordination; this includes support administratively, student conduct processes and residence life procedures. Additionally, act as project and communication manager for Eagle Families, DSD+ and more. This will include coordination for a wide variety of publications, events and projects. Serve as an initial resource for students and parents – make appropriate referrals and providing resource information.

Responsibilities:

College and Division Service

  • Coordinate representation of the Division and the Dean of Students at event days
  • Manage and continue to grow the Eagle Families program, including monthly newsletters, events and cross-campus partnerships
  • Facilitate the Planning & Programming Work Group
  • Create social media plan, execute if student worker isn’t available
  • Serve as a member of the Student Development staff by attending meetings, retreats and events as needed

Administrative and Reception Support

  • Provide Division of Student Development with clerical and general administrative support
  • Maintain calendars and appointments for Dean of Students and overall DSD meetings
  • Provide support for student conduct processes under the direction of the Assistant Dean of Students/Director of Conduct, including frequent use of conduct database software
  • Provide general Residence Life assistance during high traffic periods, including hall opening, closing and room selection
  • Maintain and update division-sponsored websites
  • Manage projects as assigned by the Dean of Students

Event Planning and Management

  • Design and coordinate marketing and communication campaigns to maximize student and family engagement with division initiatives
  • Coordinate and plan Division events, including the Dominican Honors Award nomination process and ceremony and Fall Eagle Family Weekend (in partnership with the Office of Student Inclusion and Involvement)
  • Assist in divisional coordination for summer Eagle Enrollment Days and Admitted Student Days

Supervision

  • Hire, schedule and supervise the Dean of Students/Residence Life office student workers

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Necessary Education or Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2+ years of customer service, project management or reception experience

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience working in an administrative support role, including calendar management
  • Experience working in a higher education setting
  • General knowledge of academic environments, especially those related to college student experience and student affairs
  • Communication and marketing experience (comfort in using or learning Adobe programs, Canva, Hootsuite, MailChimp or similar)

  • Computer proficiency and ability
