Information for Graduates

Student Line-up

To ensure placement within their school, students must arrive between 1:00 and 1:30 pm. Students who arrive after 1:30 will be be placed at the end of the line of students and enter the hall last instead of with other students from their school.

Seating at the Ceremony

Tickets are not required for students or guests. Designated seating for the elderly and for persons with disabilities is available. Accessible seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis; due to limited space, we request that only one non-disabled person sit with each person with a disability in the seating area designated for these guests.

Length of Ceremony

The Commencement Ceremony lasts approximately two hours.

Captioning Services

Edgewood College provides real time captioning (CART) for the Commencement Ceremony. Priority seating is arranged for individuals to have better access to the viewing screen. Upon arriving at the Monona Terrace, please let an usher know you will be utilizing the CART so you may be seated appropriately.

Parking at Monona Terrace

Monona Terrace features a cashier-operated parking structure. Parking for Edgewood College Commencement guests is $5. Early arrival is recommended to ensure time to find parking and proceed to the Exhibit Hall. Parking is limited, and traffic becomes congested as guests exit the ramp. Information about parking at Monona Terrace is available online.

We ask that families refrain from approaching the stage to take photos, which could obstruct the ability of graduates and staff to move safely during the ceremony. Professional photographers ( will take individual photographs of graduates as they receive their diploma folders and as they leave the platform. Instructions for receiving these photographs will be available to students on the day of commencement. There will also be time after the ceremony for families to return to the hall to take more photos.
